Nowhere is this more true than at Abama Resort, where an exclusive and discreet lifestyle takes its cues from maintaining harmony with our singular environment. Here in the southwest part of the island, you'll discover the enclave of serenity and breathtaking landscapes that inspired the founders of this project. And among these beautiful natural treasures there's none more captivating than Abama Beach. Crystal clear waters are tucked into the protective arms of the surrounding cliffs, making Abama Beach a secluded paradise for those who seek tranquility and privacy in their purest form. This natural cove crowned by banana trees and imposing volcanic formations is an oasis of golden sand and turquoise ocean. In this exclusive haven, you'll find none of the tourist bustle common to other parts of the island. Though, like all beaches in Spain, Abama Beach is open to the public, its users seem intent on a peaceful experience. Abama Resort guests and residents have convenient transportation options that will allow you to access the beach easily. Alternatively, one can walk down from the parking lot of The Ritz-Carlton Tenerife, Abama. The translucent waters, ideal for swimming, snorkeling, bodyboarding, kayaking or sailing, are calm thanks to a breakwater that protects the coast. It's a serene lagoon perfect for families and those who seek undisturbed relaxation. Sightings of native birds and cetaceans offshore are not uncommon, thanks to the beach's location in the protected marine area between Abama and the island of La Gomera.  ## History and natural beauty: Abama's exceptional offer For those who choose to make Abama their home, our beach becomes more than a leisure destination: it's a natural extension of daily life. Mornings can begin with a leisurely stroll by the sea, continue with hours lounging in the sun and end with a magical sunset. What's more, Abama Beach has a long history in an area inhabited by numerous cultures, including the Guanches, the ancient aboriginal Canary Islanders who lived in Tenerife before the arrival of the Spanish conquistadors in the 15th century. In the 18th Century, it became an important place for commercial exchange between Europe and South America. And during the colonial period, several fortifications were built in the surrounding area that can still be visited. To the left of the beach, a small promenade leads to another bathing area. This is a sort of natural pool with stairs carved into the stone, running alongside the stairs that connect the promenade to the open sea. These formations have been an indelible part of the Abama experience since access to the beach was created with the establishment of the first hotel in the resort.  Exploring the Tenerife properties at Abama will give you a glimpse into the myriad ways this resort is unlike any other destination on the island. Any Canary Island experience would be meaningless without the ocean and, fortunately for everyone who visits Abama, one of its greatest treasures lies at our feet in the form of the Abama Beach. ##### Published in category [Properties](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/tag/properties), [Resort](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/tag/resort) ##### Share this post - [facebook](http://www.facebook.com/share.php?u=https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/abama-beach-the-hidden-gem-of-our-tenerife-properties) - [google-plus](https://plus.google.com/share?url=https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/abama-beach-the-hidden-gem-of-our-tenerife-properties) - [twitter](https://twitter.com/intent/tweet?url=https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/abama-beach-the-hidden-gem-of-our-tenerife-properties&text=Abama%20Beach:%20the%20hidden%20gem%20of%20our%20Tenerife%20properties) - [linkedin2](http://www.linkedin.com/shareArticle?mini=true&url=https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/abama-beach-the-hidden-gem-of-our-tenerife-properties) ### Recent posts [![Build a private villa in the Canary Islands’ premier resort](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/hs-fs/hubfs/buy-a-plot-of-land-canary-islands%202.jpg?width=638&name=buy-a-plot-of-land-canary-islands%202.jpg)](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/build-a-private-villa-in-the-canary-islands-premier-resort?hsLang=en) Posted 06/07/2026 [Build a private villa in the Canary Islands’ premier resort](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/build-a-private-villa-in-the-canary-islands-premier-resort?hsLang=en) [![Abama awards nominations 2026](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Abama%20Nominations%202025-1.jpg?width=638&name=Abama%20Nominations%202025-1.jpg)](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/abama-resort-award-nominations-2026?hsLang=en) Posted 30/06/2026 [Abama Resort Award Nominations 2026](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/abama-resort-award-nominations-2026?hsLang=en) [![enjoy the night sky from your home at Abama](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/hs-fs/hubfs/see%20astronomical%20phenomena%20this%20summer%20from%20your%20home%20at%20Abama.jpg?width=638&name=see%20astronomical%20phenomena%20this%20summer%20from%20your%20home%20at%20Abama.jpg)](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/this-summer-enjoy-the-night-sky-from-your-home-at-abama?hsLang=en) Posted 25/06/2026 [This summer, enjoy the night sky from your home at Abama](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/this-summer-enjoy-the-night-sky-from-your-home-at-abama?hsLang=en) [![Las unit in Las Atalayas villas Abama Resort](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/hs-fs/hubfs/last%20unit%20in%20Las%20Atalayas%20Abama%20Resort.jpg?width=638&name=last%20unit%20in%20Las%20Atalayas%20Abama%20Resort.jpg)](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/last-unit-in-las-atalayas-buy-a-luxury-villa-in-tenerife?hsLang=en) Posted 16/06/2026 [Last Unit in Las Atalayas: Buy a Luxury Villa in Tenerife](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/last-unit-in-las-atalayas-buy-a-luxury-villa-in-tenerife?hsLang=en) [![Festivals and summer celebrations near your home at Abama](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/hs-fs/hubfs/romerias%20and%20festivals%20near%20your%20home%20at%20Abama.jpg?width=638&name=romerias%20and%20festivals%20near%20your%20home%20at%20Abama.jpg)](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/festivals-and-summer-celebrations-near-your-home-at-abama?hsLang=en) Posted 09/06/2026 [Festivals and summer celebrations near your home at Abama](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/festivals-and-summer-celebrations-near-your-home-at-abama?hsLang=en) [![The finest move-in-ready luxury penthouse in Tenerife: Los Jardines de Abama](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/hs-fs/hubfs/move-in%20ready%20luxury%20penthouse%20in%20Tenerife%20Abama%20Resort.jpg?width=638&name=move-in%20ready%20luxury%20penthouse%20in%20Tenerife%20Abama%20Resort.jpg)](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/the-finest-move-in-ready-luxury-penthouse-in-tenerife-los-jardines-de-abama?hsLang=en) Posted 22/05/2026 [The finest move-in-ready luxury penthouse in Tenerife: Los Jardines de Abama](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/the-finest-move-in-ready-luxury-penthouse-in-tenerife-los-jardines-de-abama?hsLang=en) #### Abama Resort Brochure 2019 Get your copy of the latest Abama Resort brochure today.
