This recognition at the 2025 World Luxury Awards was one of three bestowed on Las Terrazas de Abama Suites, after recently also winning prizes for [Abama Hotels at the European Hotel Awards](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/abama-hotels-las-terrazas-de-abama-named-best-luxury-hotel-in-spain?hsLang=en). Moreover, at the World Luxury Awards gala on the 29th of October at the Intercontinental Hotel in Barcelona, we were proud to accept additional awards for Sandára Wellness & Spa Abama and the restaurant Melvin by Martín Berasategui. With this new accolade, Las Terrazas de Abama Suites further consolidates its position as the top hotel in the south of Tenerife. Its 151 suites, surrounded by native vegetation and offering impressive views of both the Atlantic Ocean and the Dave Thomas-designed golf course, were conceived to offer spaciousness, privacy and understated elegance. Ranging from one- to four-bedroom suites with private gardens and terraces, Las Terrazas provides a serene experience in Mediterranean-style spaces designed by Melvin Villarroel. The World Luxury Awards have recognised both the quality of the accommodations and the excellent service, as well as the hotel’s personalised attention, exceptional dining, easy beach access, and professional tennis and golf facilities. In addition to the Best Luxury Golf Resort in Spain award, Las Terrazas de Abama Suites was also named Europe’s Best Luxury All-Suite Hotel and Spain’s Best Luxury Spa Hotel. Sandára Wellness & Spa, Abama was recognised for its exceptional commitment to holistic wellbeing. Located within Plaza Abama, in the area of Los Jardines de Abama Suites, the 450 m² spa features six treatment rooms, a hydrotherapy circuit and facilities designed to help guests fully disconnect and unwind. The name “Sandára,” inspired by a medicinal aquatic plant native to the Canary Islands, is reflected in every treatment and in the spa’s every corner, brought to life through the interior design of Alejandro Escudero. Sandára’s ability to deliver transformative experiences that blend luxury, nature and personalised care resulted in wins in three categories: Europe’s Best Luxury Boutique Spa, Europe’s Best Luxury Ocean View Spa, and Spain’s Best Interior Design Spa. Finally, the accolades awarded to Melvin by Martín Berasategui offer recognition to a restaurant distinguished by its creative cuisine, careful use of local produce and an atmosphere that blends sophistication with warmth. Under the direction of chef Sergio Fuentes, Melvin continues to excel by embracing dishes that combine the traditional Basque approach to meats with local Canary Island fish, rice dishes and desserts that celebrate flavors both simple and refined. For their efforts and consistency, Melvin was named World’s Best Luxury Resort Restaurant, Southern Europe’s Best Fine Dining Cuisine, and Spain’s Best Sunset Views. Securing these awards across such different categories confirms Abama’s increasing international recognition. The resort offers a sophisticated lifestyle that eschews excess in favor of harmonious design that highlights its natural setting and the exclusive services available on the grounds. Whether you’re enjoying an unforgettable dinner, experiencing a treatment that resets your body and mind, or simply waking to breathtaking ocean views, every moment at Abama Resort is a combination of natural beauty, refined design and exclusive services. Its recognition as Spain’s Best Luxury Golf Resort is happily seconded by visitors as well as those who buy properties at Abama to make it their home. ##### Published in category [Resort](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/tag/resort), [News](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/tag/news) ##### Share this post - [facebook](http://www.facebook.com/share.php?u=https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/abama-takes-the-2025-world-luxury-awards-as-spain-best-luxury-golf-resort) - [google-plus](https://plus.google.com/share?url=https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/abama-takes-the-2025-world-luxury-awards-as-spain-best-luxury-golf-resort) - [twitter](https://twitter.com/intent/tweet?url=https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/abama-takes-the-2025-world-luxury-awards-as-spain-best-luxury-golf-resort&text=Abama%20takes%20the%202025%20World%20Luxury%20Awards%20as%20Spain’s%20Best%20Luxury%20Golf%20Resort) - [linkedin2](http://www.linkedin.com/shareArticle?mini=true&url=https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/abama-takes-the-2025-world-luxury-awards-as-spain-best-luxury-golf-resort) ### Recent posts [![Build a private villa in the Canary Islands’ premier resort](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/hs-fs/hubfs/buy-a-plot-of-land-canary-islands%202.jpg?width=638&name=buy-a-plot-of-land-canary-islands%202.jpg)](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/build-a-private-villa-in-the-canary-islands-premier-resort?hsLang=en) Posted 06/07/2026 [Build a private villa in the Canary Islands’ premier resort](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/build-a-private-villa-in-the-canary-islands-premier-resort?hsLang=en) [![Abama awards nominations 2026](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Abama%20Nominations%202025-1.jpg?width=638&name=Abama%20Nominations%202025-1.jpg)](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/abama-resort-award-nominations-2026?hsLang=en) Posted 30/06/2026 [Abama Resort Award Nominations 2026](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/abama-resort-award-nominations-2026?hsLang=en) [![enjoy the night sky from your home at Abama](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/hs-fs/hubfs/see%20astronomical%20phenomena%20this%20summer%20from%20your%20home%20at%20Abama.jpg?width=638&name=see%20astronomical%20phenomena%20this%20summer%20from%20your%20home%20at%20Abama.jpg)](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/this-summer-enjoy-the-night-sky-from-your-home-at-abama?hsLang=en) Posted 25/06/2026 [This summer, enjoy the night sky from your home at Abama](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/this-summer-enjoy-the-night-sky-from-your-home-at-abama?hsLang=en) [![Las unit in Las Atalayas villas Abama Resort](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/hs-fs/hubfs/last%20unit%20in%20Las%20Atalayas%20Abama%20Resort.jpg?width=638&name=last%20unit%20in%20Las%20Atalayas%20Abama%20Resort.jpg)](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/last-unit-in-las-atalayas-buy-a-luxury-villa-in-tenerife?hsLang=en) Posted 16/06/2026 [Last Unit in Las Atalayas: Buy a Luxury Villa in Tenerife](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/last-unit-in-las-atalayas-buy-a-luxury-villa-in-tenerife?hsLang=en) [![Festivals and summer celebrations near your home at Abama](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/hs-fs/hubfs/romerias%20and%20festivals%20near%20your%20home%20at%20Abama.jpg?width=638&name=romerias%20and%20festivals%20near%20your%20home%20at%20Abama.jpg)](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/festivals-and-summer-celebrations-near-your-home-at-abama?hsLang=en) Posted 09/06/2026 [Festivals and summer celebrations near your home at Abama](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/festivals-and-summer-celebrations-near-your-home-at-abama?hsLang=en) [![The finest move-in-ready luxury penthouse in Tenerife: Los Jardines de Abama](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/hs-fs/hubfs/move-in%20ready%20luxury%20penthouse%20in%20Tenerife%20Abama%20Resort.jpg?width=638&name=move-in%20ready%20luxury%20penthouse%20in%20Tenerife%20Abama%20Resort.jpg)](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/the-finest-move-in-ready-luxury-penthouse-in-tenerife-los-jardines-de-abama?hsLang=en) Posted 22/05/2026 [The finest move-in-ready luxury penthouse in Tenerife: Los Jardines de Abama](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/the-finest-move-in-ready-luxury-penthouse-in-tenerife-los-jardines-de-abama?hsLang=en) #### Abama Resort Brochure 2019 Get your copy of the latest Abama Resort brochure today.
