Adrián Almirante was appointed in September as the new General Manager of the five-star Las Terrazas de Abama Suites and the Los Jardines de Abama Suites. These two accommodation options, together with the private Las Villas del Tenis villas, comprise the expanding Abama Hotels offer of 5 star hotels in Tenerife with all the conveniences of a luxury property.
Las Terrazas de Abama Suites, a Preferred Residences establishment, has already won numerous top prizes from the World Tourism Awards, TripAdvisor (Travellers’ Choice), and other important organizations in the sector. Its 151 suites are located next to the Abama Clubhouse that serves our Dave Thomas golf course. Additional on-site facilities include Melvin, a Martín Berasategui restaurant, and our Social Club, which features a fitness center that overlooks the Atlantic Ocean.
As of October 2021, Abama Hotels also includes the Los Jardines de Abama Suites, which will match the stunning views and 5* service of Las Terrazas from their location close to our new commercial and social hub, La Plaza, currently under construction. Both Las Terrazas and Los Jardines are operated by MyWay Meaningful Hotels. Guests will also have new accommodation options in our independent villas, Las Villas del Tenis, some of which are currently under construction, and which will include provate swimming pools and a different point of view on the resort.
Almirante brings his more than 20 years of professional experience in the international luxury hotel sector to Abama. He previously worked for the Ritz-Carlton brand in 5 different properties across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East and has experience in hotel operations, strategy, and finances in top cities including Shanghai, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Barcelona.
Les Roches Marbella is where Almirante earned his master’s degree in Hotel Management. This is one of the most important international hotel business schools in the world, with a top three ranking internationally. He also holds an undergraduate diploma in Tourism and since his master’s has supplemented his training with postgraduate studies in Sales, Revenue, and International Business.
Almirante’s long experience has earned him invitations to lecture at the Wuxi Institute of Technology and Suzhou University of Applied Technology, both located in China, and he has facilitated programs related to quality, luxury service, problem-solving, leadership and team management.
We asked him a few questions about his objectives over the coming years at Abama Hotels:
What are your top goals for these establishments in the near future?
Our long-term goal is to continue providing unforgettable experiences to our guests and the most nurturing environment possible for our staff. Sustainability and innovation are the cornerstones of everything we do and strong financial performance is the natural consequence that will enable us to grow and expand this intimate sanctuary.
What drew you to this project?
This is a long-term project that will continue growing and developing throughout the coming years. It offers an opportunity to create something special as we develop an incredible and diverse community with amazing facilities and the lavish service that characterizes MyWay Meaningful Hotels. I also have a strong affinity for the company values and believe they’re well-reflected in this statement about the culture: “We are a hotel company focused on achieving the wellbeing of people and the planet through unforgettable experiences.”
What unique aspects of these hotels differentiate them from other Tenerife accommodation, and in Spain?
