December has always cast a special light at Abama, but this year it feels even warmer. Perhaps it’s because our residential community has come alive more than ever. The holidays unite us with experiences that celebrate the best of life: leisure, family, relaxation, gastronomy... In short, time together. Abama welcomes you with open arms and an agenda designed to ensure you have an unforgettable holiday season.
We began on Thursday, December 4, with our annual charity dinner, this year in support of local NGO Pequeño Valiente. It was an emotional and deeply heartfelt evening that coincided with the lighting of our Christmas decorations, one of the most eagerly awaited moments of the year. Since then, the resort’s most iconic spaces have been bathed in a warm glow perfect for leisurely strolls in the springtime temperatures of our favorite island.
Children: at the center of the magic
Christmas at Abama is truly special for children. Our Kids Camp has prepared a program full of creative activities, games, and surprises, where every day is an adventure. This year, among the most notable activities is a special excursion to the Children's Fair at the PIT (Tenerife Children's and Youth Park) in Santa Cruz on Tuesday, December 30th, a Christmas classic to delight young and old alike.
And to ensure a special night on New Year’s Eve, we’ll host a Children's Dinner from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., designed for them to enjoy, share, and celebrate with friends while the adults delight in their own dining pleasures.
Wellness for body and mind
If you want a ritual to connect you with your surroundings, join our Sunset Yoga class on December 23rd, an event that’s become a community favorite. And to kick off the year with energy, we’ve also scheduled Pilates sessions on December 26th and January 2nd.
Don't forget that throughout the holidays, you can also book one of our new wellness breakfasts, sensory experiences that combine Tágara's healthy cuisine with the utter relaxation of Sandára Wellness & Spa, Abama. A delicious and mindful way to start the day.
Christmas Eve at Melvin: a taste of tradition
The magic of December 24th comes home to Melvin by Martin Berasategui, our restaurant that combines contemporary Mediterranean essence with the culinary vision of its chef, Sergio Fuentes, a passionate advocate of fresh produce and subtle sophistication. Its intimate atmosphere, masterful details, and impeccable service will make this dinner an unforgettable event for those who choose to celebrate Christmas Eve with us.
New Year's Eve: three ways to bid farewell to 2025
At Abama, you can choose your setting and atmosphere for celebrating the last night of the year. At Melvin, the evening is a tribute to haute cuisine. The chef’s tasting menu comes to center stage, faithful to the restaurant's signature style in its combination of contemporary technique, exceptional ingredients, and a balance between tradition and the avant-garde. It’s the perfect choice for those who love ringing in the new year with elegance and flavor.
Those who prefer an energetic offering will find Tágara's dinner menu marked by the Canarian character of chef Álvaro Carrillo. His tasting menu ranges from rustic artisan bread accompanied by flavored butters to a dried tomato and ricotta macaron, a grilled scallop with citrus hollandaise, a mille-feuille of roasted vegetables and foie gras, hake wrapped in bacon, and a melt-in-your-mouth Wagyu taco. The finale, designed to thrill, is a chocolate dessert in five textures. An experience made for those looking for a surprising and nuanced end to the year.
And for those who want an even more festive celebration, Atlántico offers an authentic New Year's Eve gala. Starting at 7 p.m., live music will accompany a menu from chef Carlos Dapena that features foie gras with truffles, crab, sole papieriettes, and Spanish sirloin, culminating in a dessert that combines local chocolate, yuzu, and salted caramel. It’s also the only restaurant oferring a children's menu that is sophisticated but adapted to your little ones’ tastes. At 11 p.m., traditional party bags and lucky grapes will be handed out, and after midnight, the party will continue with a DJ until 2:30 a.m. to welcome the new year as it deserves to be welcomed.
Finally, when the new year begins, on Friday, January 2nd, our owners are invited to a special gathering in an intimate and exclusive setting: the New Year's Toast at Ámbar. We’ll celebrate everything we’ve enjoyed throughout the year and begin 2026 with the joy that envelops the island.
The holidays are an invitation to experience Abama’s warm and luminous essence. Between memorable dinners, activities for the whole family, wellness rituals, and gatherings with neighbors and friends, the end of the year is a reminder that life is best when celebrated together.
