Widely recognised as one of the best locations in the world for astronomical observation, alongside Chile and Hawaii, the island’s star-filled celestial vault offers a spectacle as breathtaking as the sunset over the Atlantic. While residents can enjoy it from their terraces with a glass of wine in hand, just a short 50-minute drive brings them even closer to this natural wonder. Mount Teide, rising more than 3,700 metres above sea level and lifting the island above the clouds, provides ideal conditions for stargazing. With clear skies for much of the year, minimal light pollution, and exceptional clarity, Tenerife has become a destination of choice for both professional and amateur astronomers. These qualities have earned it the internationally recognised Starlight certification, something our [X Owners Cup](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/x-abama-owners-cup-ten-years-dreaming-under-the-stars?hsLang=en) guests were able to experience first-hand. From several points across the island, more than 80 constellations can be observed at different times of the year, alongside meteor showers and eclipses. It’s no coincidence that the Teide Observatory, one of the most important in the world, is located in Izaña. Scientists from across the globe carry out pioneering research here, making Tenerife a centre for cosmic exploration. At the summits of Teide National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the landscape transforms at night into a seemingly endless canopy of stars, offering an unforgettable experience for stargazers. This extraordinary experience isn’t just for the experts. Anyone can enjoy finding the planets, identifying constellations, and admiring the Milky Way in all its splendour under the pristine night sky. Guided experiences and excursions allow visitors to engage fully with the cosmos and its vastness. Equipped with state-of-the-art telescopes, participants can view constellations, planets, and galaxies with the naked eye while discovering the fascinating stories that have inspired humanity for centuries. These excursions typically begin at dusk and reach their peak as darkness reveals a night sky full of detail that often goes unnoticed. Warm clothing is recommended, as temperatures drop significantly at these altitudes. After such a cosmic experience, returning to Abama Resort completes the perfect circle between earth and sky. Enjoying the gentle coastal temperatures once more, taking a warm shower or a dip in the pool while looking up at the stars is a privilege that few places in Europe can offer. These simple yet exclusive pleasures place our **luxury properties in Tenerife** among the very finest on the continent. ##### Published in category [Properties](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/tag/properties), [Tenerife](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/tag/tenerife) ##### Share this post - [facebook](http://www.facebook.com/share.php?u=https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/lose-yourself-among-the-stars-near-our-luxury-properties-in-tenerife) - [google-plus](https://plus.google.com/share?url=https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/lose-yourself-among-the-stars-near-our-luxury-properties-in-tenerife) - [twitter](https://twitter.com/intent/tweet?url=https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/lose-yourself-among-the-stars-near-our-luxury-properties-in-tenerife&text=Lose%20Yourself%20Among%20the%20Stars%20Near%20Our%20Luxury%20Properties%20in%20Tenerife) - [linkedin2](http://www.linkedin.com/shareArticle?mini=true&url=https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/lose-yourself-among-the-stars-near-our-luxury-properties-in-tenerife) ### Recent posts [![Build a private villa in the Canary Islands’ premier resort](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/hs-fs/hubfs/buy-a-plot-of-land-canary-islands%202.jpg?width=638&name=buy-a-plot-of-land-canary-islands%202.jpg)](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/build-a-private-villa-in-the-canary-islands-premier-resort?hsLang=en) Posted 06/07/2026 [Build a private villa in the Canary Islands’ premier resort](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/build-a-private-villa-in-the-canary-islands-premier-resort?hsLang=en) [![Abama awards nominations 2026](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Abama%20Nominations%202025-1.jpg?width=638&name=Abama%20Nominations%202025-1.jpg)](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/abama-resort-award-nominations-2026?hsLang=en) Posted 30/06/2026 [Abama Resort Award Nominations 2026](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/abama-resort-award-nominations-2026?hsLang=en) [![enjoy the night sky from your home at Abama](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/hs-fs/hubfs/see%20astronomical%20phenomena%20this%20summer%20from%20your%20home%20at%20Abama.jpg?width=638&name=see%20astronomical%20phenomena%20this%20summer%20from%20your%20home%20at%20Abama.jpg)](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/this-summer-enjoy-the-night-sky-from-your-home-at-abama?hsLang=en) Posted 25/06/2026 [This summer, enjoy the night sky from your home at Abama](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/this-summer-enjoy-the-night-sky-from-your-home-at-abama?hsLang=en) [![Las unit in Las Atalayas villas Abama Resort](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/hs-fs/hubfs/last%20unit%20in%20Las%20Atalayas%20Abama%20Resort.jpg?width=638&name=last%20unit%20in%20Las%20Atalayas%20Abama%20Resort.jpg)](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/last-unit-in-las-atalayas-buy-a-luxury-villa-in-tenerife?hsLang=en) Posted 16/06/2026 [Last Unit in Las Atalayas: Buy a Luxury Villa in Tenerife](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/last-unit-in-las-atalayas-buy-a-luxury-villa-in-tenerife?hsLang=en) [![Festivals and summer celebrations near your home at Abama](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/hs-fs/hubfs/romerias%20and%20festivals%20near%20your%20home%20at%20Abama.jpg?width=638&name=romerias%20and%20festivals%20near%20your%20home%20at%20Abama.jpg)](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/festivals-and-summer-celebrations-near-your-home-at-abama?hsLang=en) Posted 09/06/2026 [Festivals and summer celebrations near your home at Abama](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/festivals-and-summer-celebrations-near-your-home-at-abama?hsLang=en) [![The finest move-in-ready luxury penthouse in Tenerife: Los Jardines de Abama](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/hs-fs/hubfs/move-in%20ready%20luxury%20penthouse%20in%20Tenerife%20Abama%20Resort.jpg?width=638&name=move-in%20ready%20luxury%20penthouse%20in%20Tenerife%20Abama%20Resort.jpg)](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/the-finest-move-in-ready-luxury-penthouse-in-tenerife-los-jardines-de-abama?hsLang=en) Posted 22/05/2026 [The finest move-in-ready luxury penthouse in Tenerife: Los Jardines de Abama](https://blog.abamahotelresort.com/the-finest-move-in-ready-luxury-penthouse-in-tenerife-los-jardines-de-abama?hsLang=en) #### Abama Resort Brochure 2019 Get your copy of the latest Abama Resort brochure today.
