On a milestone anniversary, the X Abama Owners Cup celebrated the incredible night sky of Tenerife. With the collaboration of the prestigious Starlight Foundation and the evocative title “Star Bright,” the annual gathering of our Abama family was a weekend replete with memories and the joy of living—and dreaming—so close to the stars. Over several days, owners and friends of our luxury resort in Tenerife had the opportunity to discover what makes our island one of the best places on the planet for contemplating and studying the heavens. After diving into the sea and exploring Tenerife's volcanoes in past editions, this year's Owners Cup closed our trilogy dedicated to nature by paying tribute to the spectacular celestial vault that crowns this corner of the Canary Islands.
We would like to thank all the owners who came together to share this event with us. Every year, their enthusiasm inspires us to nurture the spirit of the Abama community through this gathering. Although the program of activities began on September 26, we were lucky enough to be able to get into the spirit from the beginning of the month thanks to the beautiful astrophotography exhibition “Star Bright,” which you can see at the Abama Gallery in Plaza Abama until October 15. The photographs, open to the public, are part of the “El Cielo de Canarias” (The Sky of the Canary Islands) project by astrophotographer Daniel López. His work, which demonstrates the incredible visibility of the night sky over the Fortunate Islands, is part of his broader portfolio of projects that have been featured in prestigious magazines like National Geographic, and even published on more than 30 occasions by NASA.
X Owners Cup Golf Tournament
Once again, our 18-hole Owners Cup Single Stableford golf tournament, which kicked off on the 26th, was the star of the weekend and a hotly contested competition. The first tee time was at 8 a.m., and play continued until mid-afternoon to accommodate all players. Participants found refreshments at Hole 1 and also enjoyed our sumptuous break space at Hole 10, with snacks and cava from Bodegas Perelada & Chivite and El Corte Inglés.
Pilates under the sun
Those who chose not to play in the tournament were able to enjoy a master Pilates class on the Plaza Abama pool terrace led by one of our professional trainers. The session served to recharge their batteries and prepare their bodies and minds for the rest of the weekend's activities.
The Aroma of the Stars - Workshop by El Corte Inglés
Led by perfume expert Elena del Valle from El Corte Inglés, attendees were able to participate in an "aroma tasting" of seven iconic fragrances to reveal the secrets of their notes: their original ingredients, extraction methods, and the inspiration of their designers. All this was done through a story that fused the mythology and history of the constellations.
Dining under the stars
Following in the footsteps of Tenerife's aboriginal inhabitants, guests took part in an evening of astronomical discovery that combined learning and delicious cuisine at the Hotel Villalba. Accompanied by several StarLight-certified guides in astronomy and stargazing, the experts taught us why Tenerife is one of the best observation points on the planet, as well as the important scientific work carried out at the Izaña Observatory, located 2,400 meters above sea level. Owners and friends were also able to enjoy incredible time-lapse photographs taken as part of Daniel López's “El Cielo de Canarias” project.
Padel clinic
Open even to participants who had never played before, this sport workshop held on the morning of the 27th was designed to help improve individual skills, regardless of experience. Advanced players and beginners alike had a great time learning professional tricks from our expert coaches.
New 2026 Abama Real Estate Developments
One of the most eagerly awaited activities of the weekend took place on the 27th with the exclusive presentation of our resort's upcoming real estate launches for 2026. Though there is still much to be revealed, the owners of our luxury residences received exclusive information about these new properties and when they would be available for reservation. The event also served to share updated statistics on the appreciation of Abama assets, the resort's sales figures, and news about one of our complex's most important commitments, advances in sustainability, as well as facility improvements.
Fashion show
Following last year's success, the Plaza Abama pool terrace hosted an exciting fashion show to present the 2025/2026 season from Eva Divine, designer and owner of numerous luxury boutiques in Tenerife. With two establishments here at the resort, Eva Divine and Paradise Canarian, it was the perfect occasion to discover the latest in beachwear, luxury sportswear, and red carpet fashion while enjoying cocktail service from Tágara.
Awards Dinner
The Abama Event Garden was the venue for the highlight of our event: dinner, dancing, and the awards ceremony for the X Abama Owners Cup Golf Tournament. Under the direction of award-winning chef Braulio Simancas, from Silbo Gomero, guests enjoyed his delightful “Milky Way” menu, which made it clear why he's been awarded a Bib Gourmand by the Michelin Guide for his reinterpretation of Canary Islands cuisine. Lunar landscapes, galaxies, and Martian dunes passed before the diners in a display of creativity that skillfully fused haute cuisine with local ingredients. Later, the Atlantic Jazz Lab Orchestra, featuring Natanael Ramos and Esther Van Hess as soloists, delighted our guests with an evening of contemporary classics.
This outstanding tenth anniversary celebration reminded us anew of the singular nature of the Abama community. Once again, we thank the owners for embracing the ideas and activities with such enthusiasm and, of course, our sponsors and collaborators for helping us make it possible. With exciting new projects on the horizon, there is no better motivation to shoot for the stars than remembering our recent joy under them.
