This past 2nd and 3rd of October saw the celebration of Abama’s second annual Owners Cup golf tournament, and we’re pleased to share some of our photos from this great event. Our luxury golf resort once again proved itself up to the challenge of hosting a lively competition, this time catering to our wonderful owners and their guests.
Abama Luxury Residences and sponsor Banca March welcomed 68 competitors of more than 10 different nationalities to participate in this 36-hole single Stableford tournament. With a maximum handicap of 26.4 for men and 36 for women, the event once again demonstrated the challenges and excitement of playing the Abama golf course, where the incredible landscape, featuring 25,000 palm trees, white-sand bunkers and dozens of lakes, is accompanied by spectacular views of the ocean.
A round of applause, please, for our winners: Brigite Teufner and Josef Teufner! Brigite came in first in the women’s category, followed by Kate Dwyer and Plony Bom in second and third place, respectively. Among the men, second place was awarded to Reinhard Teufner and third to Thomas Maurovich, and a special prize was given to Peter Dawson Goode for having the closest ball to Hole 7.
The players received their trophies the night of the 3rd during the Gala Dinner in the Ritz-Carlton, Abama’s Mirador Restaurant. We’ll post more details and photographs of the Gala in the coming week, but suffice to say the evening was as successful as the Owners Cup itself, and we can’t wait to repeat it next year!
