Here at Abama Luxury Residences, there’s little we love more than golf. Our Dave Thomas course is without a doubt one of the strongest attractions of our resort. But we also love to travel, and we’ve long made special trips to other European countries to dip into the wider golf world, especially when a unique event presents itself.
Such was the case this past June 29th, when we travelled to Golfclub Starnberg near Munich, Germany, for a truly original tournament: the third edition of the Golf meets Klassik. This charity event, designed to support the non-profit Bavarian Philharmonic, incorporates classical music into the day with brass and string instruments accompanying the players at several of the tees. We were blessed with excellent weather, making play on the perfectly-kept greens a delight.
Abama’s sponsor booth was directly on the fairway of Hole 9, and we were delighted to offer red wine and Spanish ham to the golfers, and have the opportunity to participate in this very special day.
Later that evening, at the Gala Dinner hosted by the Principal Conductor of the Philharmonic, Mark Mast, guests were treated to a performance by Mongolian musician Enkhjargal Dandarvaanchig on a horsehair violin. And the always-popular raffle was a lively high point of the celebration. All in all, the event was a success for the Philharmonic, helping to support their worthy contribution to local culture. We can’t wait for next year!
